Greener Pleasures
If you are like me, nowhere on Earth can a person find more peace and comfort than they can through gardening. Yes, it is hard and tedious when you first begin to plan or create a garden, but it is pleasurable. Once your ideas and plans for your garden have been firmly planted in your mind or written on a piece of paper, than is when the satisfying work begins.
My favorite part about gardening is when you have completed your project, whether it is planting vegetables, perennials, or anything in between, you can look back over your work and feel a sense of satisfaction. You look at your work and ask yourself if what you had envisioned is what you have accomplished. If not, that is not a problem because you will be able to spend more time working and correcting it.
Gardening should not and is not a tedious task. Oh, yes, at times it can be hard work, but it is an escape. An escape from the everyday hustle and bustle of life. Any type of garden should be your sanctuary. While some people work in gardens because of the tedious work than can be involved, others plant and grow gardens for relaxation, as a way to show their creativity, or just for physical activity that goes with designing, planting, or perfecting a garden.
Use The Nursery Close By
The first thing someone needs to do before they even do the first task in their garden, is to visit their local nursery. The nursery will help you decide, if needed, what to plant and if the soil is fertile enough for the types of plants you intend to grow.

You will need to design or layout your garden. What are you going to plant where? How many plants are you going to need, or if starting from seed, what all do I need to do to make sure that they germinate. Make sure you have plan so as to not waste money on plants, seeds, tools, or decor that you will not need. As the old saying goes, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
Just like any other task you have ever completed, you need to make sure that you have the correct tools to complete the job. Your local nursery will help here as well. After you have formulated your plan, then it is time to begin.
Once you begin your garden, one thing that you will notice is that no matter what you do you will have weeds and insects to fight off. You may get a handle on them for a short period of time, but it is imperative that you keep a check these types of things. If you don’t, before you know it, weeds will have taken it over or insects or disease has killed all your plants. It is a never ending battle to combat these things, but what does that mean, more time in the serene environment called your garden.
The type of garden that you choose to grow will effect the amount of time required to keep a handle on the weeds, insects, etc. as well as how long it will take you to plant it.
Choosing the type of garden, whether a vegetable, organic, English, Japanese, French, or what ever type of garden to decide to grow, will depend on a variety of factors. Some of these being what type of personality you have, how much time you plan to or have to spend in the garden, your need for the garden, or what types of colors, smells, or vegetables that you prefer.
Ultimately, the choice is yours and no matter what style garden you chose to plant, it is still possible to have the theme and functionality plus all the extras such as lighting or rock work. It just takes a bit of imagination and good preplanning and you will be on you way to the perfect garden.
